also known as hens and chicks, are ornamental succulents that will tolerate shade and sun.

This plant has large dark green succulent leaves which make it an attractive plant, but the popularity is mostly due to the variety of flowers & winter-blooming nature. Many cultivars or forms of this species exist & finding a 'true' species is not likely. Cultivars may have orange, pink, red, white, or red flowers & some varieties have double flowers.
